Three people who got tired of watching good businesses lose money to bad systems

Spencer, Chase, and Ezra came together with one purpose — to help small businesses run more efficiently and give them a fighting chance against the big players. They saw talented tradespeople and service businesses losing work not because of their craft, but because of the chaos of running the business. Missed follow-ups, unsent proposals, invoices that never went out. SPEC Systems was built to handle all of that automatically — meeting business owners where they are, caring for them, and supporting them with the administrative systems they need to thrive.

The people behind the system

Spencer Walraven

Spencer Walraven

Founder & Systems Architect

Spencer, Chase, and Ezra started SPEC Systems together, brainstorming what a better operations system could look like for service businesses. Spencer is the one laying out the system architecture, always looking for ways to make it operate at a higher level. He turns the team's ideas into structured plans and is constantly refining how each piece works to deliver better results for clients.

When it comes to working with clients, the whole team is involved. From the discovery call to going live, all three of them are hands-on to make sure the system fits the business perfectly. Based in Phoenix, AZ.

Chase Brink

Co-Founder & Automation Engineer

Chase has been building SPEC Systems alongside Spencer from day one. When Spencer lays out the blueprint, Chase helps refine it, pressure-test the ideas, and bring them to life. He's the sounding board for every new concept and the hands that help turn rough ideas into polished, working systems.

Together with Spencer and Ezra, Chase helped take this company from an idea to a real business. He's involved in every stage, from brainstorming new automation scenarios to editing the details that make the difference between something that works and something that works right.

Ezra Hoehne

Industry Consultant · Founder, 121 Consulting

Ezra is the reason we understand service businesses as well as we do. As the founder of 121 Consulting, he's spent years working directly with contractors, roofers, remodelers, and service companies of all sizes. He knows the pain points because he's lived them alongside his clients.

Ezra connects SPEC Systems with the businesses that need it most. When he introduces us to someone, it's because he's seen their operation and knows exactly how the system will help them. His relationships and industry knowledge are what make our approach personal, not transactional.

We kept seeing the same problem everywhere

Great work. Broken systems.

A roofer with 5-star craftsmanship losing leads because he didn't respond fast enough. A remodeler sending proposals a week after the site visit. A landscaper who finished beautiful work but never asked for a single review. The quality of work was excellent. The business operations were holding them back.

Tools that don't fit.

The tools that were supposed to help were either too complicated, too expensive, or too generic. A $300/month CRM that nobody on the team actually uses. A project management app that takes longer to update than just doing the work. Software built for tech companies, not for people who work with their hands.

So we built something different.

Not a software platform you have to learn. Not a consultant who gives advice and leaves. A complete operations system that we install, configure, and run inside your business. Built on tools you already use. Powered by AI that sounds like your team, not a robot. Ready in a week, not a quarter.

Now we're here.

We spent months building, breaking, and rebuilding 31 automation scenarios until they worked right. We tested them with real data, real edge cases, and real expectations. Now we're bringing that system to service businesses everywhere, and building custom automation for anyone with a repetitive task that shouldn't exist.

How we think about automation

01

Your tools, not ours

Google Sheets, Gmail, Calendly, QuickBooks. Tools you already know. No vendor lock-in. Your data stays with you if you ever leave.

02

AI that sounds like you

Every automated email reads like it came from someone on your team. No corporate jargon, no robotic templates. Your clients can't tell the difference.

03

You stay in control

The system drafts, schedules, and recommends. You decide when emails go out and how your business runs. It's a tool, not a replacement.
